Abstract
The ACT Water Strategy 2014–44: Striking the Balance (ACT Water Strategy) provides long term strategic guidance to manage Territory’s water resources and supply, and to what concern catchment practices and their management.
ACT Water Strategy enlists seven strategic priorities (S1 – S7) and organises them among three core outcomes (Healthy catchments and waterbodies; A sustainable water supply used efficiently; A Community that values and enjoy clean, healthy catchments and waterways). They Strategies are: S1 - Achievement of integrated catchment management across the ACT and region; S2 - Protection and restoration of aquatic ecosystems in urban and non-urban areas; S3 - Manage stormwater and flooding; S4: Secure long term water supplies; S5 - Manage and promote efficient and sustainable use of water; S6 - Provide clean and safe water for the ACTS7 - Engage the community on understanding and contributing to a more sustainable city.
