Abstract
The object of this Determination is to set out written principles to be observed in the manufacture of veterinary chemical products, unless the products are exempt from the requirement to be manufactured in licensed facilities under the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals Regulations.
Firstly the instrument prescribes that manufacturers of veterinary chemical products must have in place a quality assurance system to ensure that finished products are fit for their intended use, are manufactured in accordance with the manufacturing information mentioned in subsection 12(1) of this Determination, and do not place treated animals or users at risk due to inadequate quality, safety or efficacy. Veterinary chemical products must also be manufactured under the management and supervision of appropriately qualified, trained or experienced persons. The instrument also establishes standards for building and equipment used in the manufacturing process, documentation kept, etc.
