Abstract
These Regulations implement provisions of the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals Code Act, 1994.
The 92 regulations are divided into 11 Parts: Preliminary (1); Approvals and registration (2); Listable chemical products (2A); Reserved chemical products (2B); Compensation for provider of certain information in respect of continued registration of certain chemical products (3); Control of chemical products (4); Analysis (5); Permits (6); Manufacture of chemical products (7); Enforcement (8); Miscellaneous (9).
Part 2 sets out certain requirements with respect to substances which specified veterinary products must contain, and provides for labelling and registration of chemical products. Provisions of Part 4 include standards for chemical products and regulate the recording and supply of data on the manufacture or import of chemical products. Regulation 42 prescribes, among other things, FAO Specifications for Plant Protection Products for products other than listed under (a)(b) and (c) of that Regulation. Regulations 47 to 54 deal with duties of suppliers of hormonal growth promotants. Regulation 68 provides for disclosure of information to prescribed international organizations. (7 Schedules)
