Abstract
This Act concerns the protection of agriculture and of the environment from certain plants and animals, it consists of 78 sections and is divided into five Parts. Under the Act, “control” means, in relation to animals, destroy the animals and their warrens, burrows, nests or harbours; and reduce the extent to which land is inhabited or subject to infestation by the animals; in relation to plants destroy the plants and reduce and inhibit the propagation of the plants. For the purpose of administering the Act, the Animal and Plant Control Commission and Animal and Plant Control Boards are established and regulated (Part 2, Div 1 and 2). Part 3 is dedicated to the control of animals and Part 4 to the control of plants.
