Abstract
This Regulation, consisting of 8 sections and completed by two Schedules, implements provisions of the Animal Diseases and Animal Pests (Emergency Outbreaks) Act 1991.
The Regulation sets out the circumstances in which the Chief Veterinary Officer and the Director-General shall be exempt from sections 9 and 27B, respectively, of the Act if found in possession of an animal disease agent or emergency animal pest.
The Regulation further provides for particulars required for compensation claims in respect of domestic animals or property destroyed because of an emergency animal disease, and prescribes certain offences under the Act as penalty notice offences.

Entry into force notes
This Regulation enters into force on 10 September 2012.

This Regulation was impliedly repealed by repeal of the Animal Diseases and Animal Pests (Emergency Outbreaks) Act 1991 by Sch 6 to the Biosecurity Act 2015 No 24 with effect from 1.7.2017.
