Abstract
These Regulations, consisting of 6 sections, provide for the prevention and control of disease within the apiary industry by requiring that apiaries be identified so as to facilitate their inspection; requiring that beekeepers use only standard or approved kinds of hive; and by providing for the seizure and disposal of abandoned or neglected hives, bee products and beekeeping equipment.

These Regulations are made consequentially on the repeal of the Animal Health (Apiaries) Regulations 2001 under section 11 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1992.
