Abstract
The Bayulu Community By-laws 2006 were established under the Aboriginal Communities Act 1979 and approved by the Governor of Western Australia. They apply to individuals on the community lands of the Bayulu Community, regardless of membership in the community. The by-laws govern various aspects of community conduct and operations, including the decision-making process of the Council of Leaders, permissions for members and non-members, traffic regulations, waste management, property damage, behavior standards, and restrictions regarding drugs, harmful substances, and alcohol. Police officers are granted powers to enforce the by-laws and address violations, which are subject to penalties including fines and compensation orders. These by-laws complement the laws of Western Australia and prioritize the welfare of the Bayulu Community.
