Abstract
This Regulation, consisting of 34 sections divided into seven Parts, establishes the following issues: Part 2 provides for the protection of animals and plants (including existing TSC Act and NPW Act licences as biodiversity conservation licences); Part 3 Provisions relating to areas of outstanding biodiversity value (including Existing critical habitat continued as declared areas of outstanding biodiversity value); Part 4 Provisions relating to threatened species and ecological communities (including Saving provision relating to existing Scientific Committee); Part 5 Provisions relating to private land conservation agreements (including continuation of biobanking agreements under TSC Act as biodiversity stewardship agreements under new Act); Part 6 Provisions relating to biodiversity offsets scheme (including preservation of existing biodiversity credits under TSC Act); Part 7 Provisions relating to biodiversity assessment and approvals under Planning Act; etc.
