Abstract
The Minister for Emergency Services on the 15th March 2020, declares a state of emergency in respect of the pandemic caused by virus COVID-19. The areas of the State to which the state of emergency declaration applies is the State of Western Australia. This state of emergency declaration is made under section 56 of the Emergency Management Act 2005.

Pursuant to section 170 of the Public Health Act 2016, I, Roger Cook, the Minister for Health, further extend the duration of the public health state of emergency declaration, which came into effect on 23 March 2020 at 13:30 hours, for a period of 14 days.
