Abstract
This Act provides for the control and administration of certain works of water supply by the Administrator of the Fish River Water Supply. The Administrator may supply water from the works to any person who enters into a contract with him under such terms and conditions as he may think fit. Any council may also enter into a contract with the Administrator for the supply of water. A council which is taking a supply of water from the Administrator shall not, except with the consent of the Administrator, supply water to any person upon premises situated outside the area of such council (Part 2). Parts 3 and 4 contain financial provisions regarding the following: (a) capital debt; (b) allocation of moneys; (c) accounts to be kept in Special Deposit Account; (d) payments by Treasurer; (e) contributions and borrowing by councils. Part 5 contains miscellaneous provisions including a section on catchment areas. The Governor may, by proclamation published in the Gazette, proclaim any lands to be a catchment area in connection with the supply of water by the Administrator.
