Abstract
These Regulations, consisting of 37 sections completed by two Schedules, implement the Fisheries Management Act 2007 by providing the management scheme for the Marine Scalefish Fishery and the Restricted Marine Scalefish Fishery, which consist in the taking of Razorfish (Pinna bicolor) in coastal waters for the purpose of bait. They regulate licences and related fees, provide for the registration of boats, for the allocation of quotas and for catch and disposal records. The holder of a licence in respect of a marine scalefish fishery must not, for a commercial purpose, take blue crab in a blue crab fishing zone unless the licence is subject to a condition fixing a blue crab quota entitlement in relation to that zone. Maximum penalty: $5 000. Schedule 1 deals with Aquatic resources prescribed for marine scalefish fisheries.
