Abstract
This Regulation, consisting of 14 sections divided into six Parts and completed by three Schedules, implements the Fisheries Management Act 1994 by providing the management plan for ocean trap and line fishery in New South Wales. The Plan aims at contributing, in conjunction with other fishing regulatory controls, to manage the impacts of the fishery on the environment, to ensure ecologically sustainable development, to provide for the survival of protected fish, and to promote viable commercial fishing.
The Plan provides for classes of shares and types of endorsement, minimum and maximum shareholdings, fishing gear, areas of operation and restrictions, general requirements in relation to taking fish, restrictions applying in or near critical habitat of grey nurse shark, etc.
