Abstract
These Regulations implement provisions of the Fisheries Management Act 1991. Part 3 makes provision for auctions, tenders and ballots of fishing rights to be conducted by the Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA). Regulation 11 prescribes in detail procedures of an application to be made by master of a foreign fishing boat for the approval by AFMA of the presence of the boat being present in the Australian Fishing Zone. Other provisions of Part 4 deal with identification of foreign boats, documents on board and the reporting of the boat's position. Part 11 prescribes catch limits for specified fishes in specified waters.
Entry into force notes
These Regulations enter into force on 3 February 1992.
