Abstract
This Regulation sets out general provisions applying to certain marine safety licences relating to commercial vessels and to prescribe fees in relation to such licences, and prescribes the requirements for the design, construction and equipment of commercial vessels. The Regulation requires specified commercial vessels to have survey certificates and sets out the crew requirements for certain commercial vessels.
The Regulation further: regulates the hiring out and hiring of certain commercial vessels; regulate the towing of vessels by commercial vessels and the crossing of coastal bars by commercial vessels; prescribes requirements in relation to the loading of commercial vessels; provides for the implementation of safety management systems for commercial vessels; prescribes requirements in relation to the inspection and maintenance of public ferry wharves; etc.
