Abstract
The National Disaster Risk Reduction Framework (‘the framework’) (2019-2030) establishes a 2030 vision, goals and priorities broadly aligned to the Sendai Framework and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, and outlines foundational strategies for action to meet these across the five years from 2019 – 2023. This framework is designed to guide Australia’s efforts to reduce disaster risk associated with natural hazards.
The 2030 Disaster Risk Reduction Goals are: 1) Take action to reduce existing disaster risk; 2) Minimise creation of future disaster risk through decisions taken across all sectors; 3) Equip decision-makers with the capabilities and information they need to reduce disaster risk and manage residual risk.
