Abstract
This plan, prepared under the Nature Conservation Act 1992, provides the macropod conservation harvesting period and conditions. This notice applies to the following species (each a harvest macropod): eastern grey kangaroo (Macropus giganteus); red kangaroo (Macropus rufus); common wallaroo (Macropus robustus). The harvest period for a harvest macropod starts, for each relevant zone, on 1 January 2014 and ends at the end of: if the chief executive has published a notice stating thechief executive is satisfied that the relevant maximum amount for the macropod for the zone will have been taken in 2014 by a day stated in the notice—the stated day; or otherwise—31 December 2014. A notice must be published: in a newspaper circulating generally in the State; and on or before the day the harvest period ends. If the chief executive publishes or intends to publish a notice for a harvest macropod for a relevant zone, the chief executive must also give each holder of a macropod harvesting licence for the macropod a written notice stating: the chief executive is satisfied that the relevant maximum amount for the relevant zone will have been taken in 2014 by the day stated in the notice; and the harvest period for the macropod for the zone ends at the end of the stated day. The chief executive must give the notice mentioned in subsection at least 7 days before the day the harvest period ends.
