Abstract
This Regulation, consisting of 57 sections divided into ten Parts and completed by two Schedules, implements provisions of the Non-indigenous Animals Act, 1987. The Regulation prescribes categories of non-indigenous animals and identifies them as controlled categories divided into higher-risk categories and lower–risk categories.
The Regulation provides for standards for housing of non-indigenous animals, for their identification and of husbandry for non-indigenous animals. It also sets out procedures and requirements to apply for licences and permits, and prescribes licence fees.
Entry into force notes
This Regulation enters into force on 1 September 2012.
