Abstract
The object of these regulations is to ensure that any pipeline activity is 1) carried out in a manner consistent with the principles of ecologically sustainable development; 2) carried out in accordance with an environment plan that demonstrates that the environmental impacts and environmental risks of the pipeline activity will be reduced to as low as is reasonably practicable; and has appropriate environmental performance objectives and environmental performance standards; and) has appropriate measurement criteria for determining whether those objectives and standards have been met.
Part 2 regulates Environment plans, requirements for approval, content, approval process, etc. Part 3 concerns incidents, reports and records, Part 4 provides for monitoring and reporting on emissions and discharges and application of chemical dispersant to oil spills. Part 5 regulates operators of pipeline activities
