Abstract
This Regulation implements the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 and replaces the Protection of the Environment Operations (Clean Air) Regulation 2021. Revisions are made to the local government areas where the control of burning provisions are applicable, and exceptions are made for burning vegetation for the purposes of this Division if the burning is carried out— on the premises on which the vegetation grew, and as part of agricultural operations, including clearing the premises of vegetation, other than for construction on the premises, or the burning of stubble, orchard prunings, diseased crops, weeds or pest animal habitats on farms, or the burning of pasture for regenerative purposes. Burning is also authorized for bush fire hazard reduction and training fire fighter
This Regulation makes provision with respect to the following: domestic solid fuel heaters, the control of burning, emissions from motor vehicles and motor vehicle fuels, emissions from activities and plant, the control of volatile organic liquids, petrol, limits on sulphur content of liquid fuel.
