Abstract
Regulations in force under the Quarantine Act 1908. The text consists of 108 Regulations divided into 8 Parts: Preliminary (I); Notices of importation and clearance of goods etc (IA); General provisions in relation to quarantine (II); Reports (III); Sanitary measures with respect to vessels (IV); Desinfection of vessels, persons and goods (V); Performance of quarantine (VI); Provisions in relation to aircraft (VII); Miscellaneous (VIII). The Regulations are completed by two Schedules: Forms (1); and information to be included in notice under subsection 16AC (1) or (2).
These Regulations were amended in 1997 by adding a new Regulation and a new Part to it. Regulation 85 of Part 8 contains rules relative to a situation where a person has failed to comply with requirements regarding the filling out of a quarantine entry statement. A quarantine officer may require a persons who travelled on an overseas vessel to Australia to complete a statement relative to matters within the competence of the quarantine officers. 'Persons' includes the master and crew of a vessel. Part VIII concerns the delivery of infringement notices.
