Abstract
The Sandalwood (Limitation on Removal of Sandalwood) Order (No. 2) 2015, under the Sandalwood Act 1929, regulates the annual and semi-annual quantities of sandalwood that may be removed from Crown and alienated land in Western Australia. Effective from December 29, 2015, the order limits the removal to 2,500 tonnes annually, of which no more than 1,250 tonnes can be living sandalwood. These restrictions exclude sandalwood cultivated in plantations. The weight calculations exclude certain parts of the tree, such as leaves, bark, and small branches.
