Abstract
This Act promotes waste avoidance and resource recovery, it consists of 32 sections and is divided into six parts. The Department of Environment and Conservation is responsible for the administration of the Act and for the elaboration of waste strategies (Part 3). Under section 19, a Waste Fund is created and its resources are to be used to pursue waste avoidance, resource recovery and waste management.
