Abstract
This Act, consisting of 41 sections divided into five Parts, concerns the protection of wilderness and the restoration of land to its conditions before the European colonization. The Act provides for the constitution and management of wilderness protection areas and zones, and regulates activities that can be carried out in these areas. It establishes the Wilderness Advisory Committee, defines its functions and regulates its internal operation. The Committee is responsible for preparing a draft code for the management of wilderness protections areas and wilderness protection zones. The Act also concerns the protection of Aboriginal sites and Aboriginal objects and the appointment and powers of wardens.
