Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on further strengthening cooperation in the field of energy.

The Parties agree on developing intergovernmental cooperation and cooperation between the companies in the oil, gas, and electricity sectors on a long-term basis in the following areas: (i) oil and gas production by companies of the Parties in the territory of the Parties' states; (ii) geological exploration and hydrocarbon production in the territories of the Parties, as well as in the territories of third countries with the agreement of the Parties' companies; (iii) petrochemicals and oil refining; (iv) establishment of a joint company; (v) implementing projects for the construction of new thermal power plants in the territories of the Parties; (vi) assistance and exchange of experience in the implementation of projects for the production of electricity based on renewable energy sources; (vii) promotion of the production of energy with a capacity of less than 1 MW based on renewable energy sources; (viii) exchange of experience in the field of application of energy-saving technologies; and (ix) other areas of cooperation of mutual interest. The coordination of the implementation of this Agreement shall be carried out through the Joint Working Group. The disagreement may be solved through negotiation and consultations. The Parties may make amendments to this Agreement by mutual written consent. This Agreement shall be valid for indefinite period unless terminated by written notice requiring six months through diplomatic channels.
