Agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Latvia on cooperation in the field of environmental protection.

By the Presidential Decree No. 452 dated 27 August 2009, Agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Latvia on cooperation in the field of environmental protection was approved. The Parties agree upon carrying out activities regarding biodiversity conservation, environmental impact assessment, climate change, management of protected areas, protection of ozone layer, soil protection, trans-boundary air pollution, waste management and water protection. The Parties shall develop the cooperation by exchange of scientific and technical information, documents, experts, projects, experiences and best available technology. The Parties may organize training programs, conferences, symposia. This Agreement may be amended by mutual written consent. The dispute may be solved by negotiations and consultations between the Parties. This Agreement shall be valid until one of the Parties exercises its termination rights requiring six months written notice.
