Agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey on cooperation in the field of environmental protection.

This Agreement sets out a framework for cooperation in the field of environmental protection between Turkey and Azerbaijan. The parties agree to cooperate in issues such as: nature protection, management of protected areas, conservation of biodiversity, protection of Caspian Sea and Black Sea Environment, Environmental Impact Assessment, waste management, climate change, forest management, and reforestation. It is stated in the Agreement that, the contracting parties will agree to exchange information and research in scientific and technical level, documents on research, development activities, environmental management practices, environmental technologies, experts and members of non-governmental organizations. The Contracting Parties will also agree to set up training programs, meetings and conferences. The disputes may be solved by negotiation between the Parties. This Agreement may be amended by mutual written consent. The Agreement is valid for five years and is automatically renewable with termination rights requiring six months written notice.
