Abstract
By the Law № 904-IVQ dated 14 February 2014, Agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine on cooperation in the field of plant protection and quarantine was approved. The Parties agree upon carrying out activities regarding phytosanitary and quarantine control, as well as at the border checkpoints, preventive measures for import, export and transit of harmful organisms under quarantine, import quarantine permit and phytosanitary certificates in accordance with the International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 12, implementation of quarantine measures and compliance with International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 13 and No. 15. This Agreement states that the National Plant Protection Organizations shall discharge the functions specified by the IPPC. Furthermore, the Parties agree upon the list of harmful organisms under quarantine as an integral part of this Agreement. The Parties shall develop the cooperation by exchange of information, regulations, rules, scientific and technical assistance, research studies, experts, experiments and documents in the field of plant protection and quarantine. This Agreement may be amended by mutual written consent. The dispute may be solved by negotiations and consultations between the Parties. This Agreement shall be valid for five years and is automatically renewable with termination rights requiring six months written notice.
