Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry on cooperation in the field of agriculture.

By the Presidential Decree № 205 dated 27 June 2014, Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry on cooperation in the field of agriculture was approved. The Parties agree upon cooperation on (i) promoting reciprocal trade and investments in food and agricultural sector, (ii) animal breeding, animal husbandry, artificial insemination for breeding high yielding animals in livestock sector, (iii) viniculture, (iv) plant varieties and production seed and seedling, (v) harmonization of veterinary, phytosanitary and food safety rules of Azerbaijan into international standards, (vi) hygiene and sanitary requirements, (vii) certification of organic production. The Parties shall develop the cooperation by exchange of experience in organic production and dairy production, exchange of experience on cooperatives and producer organizations, promotion of direct connection between agricultural research and education institutes of each party. The Contracting Parties may organize seminars, conferences and reciprocal visits of researchers and experts. This MoU may be amended by mutual written consent. The dispute may be solved by consultations and negotiations between the Parties. This MoU shall be valid for five years and is automatically renewable with termination rights requiring six months written notice.
