Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Civil Defense Department under the Chairmanship of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Italy on cooperation on civil defence and mutual assistance in the case of emergency.

By the Presidential Decree № 488 dated 27 July 2011, Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Civil Defense Department under the Chairmanship of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Italy on cooperation on civil defence and mutual assistance in the case of emergency was approved. The Parties agree upon carrying out activities regarding prevention, mitigation and preparedness of and fight against natural and man-made disasters. The Parties shall develop the cooperation by exchange of scientific and technical information and experts, developing joint projects and risk reduction strategies and by making arrangements on mutual emergency assistance. The Parties may organize training programs, seminars and symposium. This MoU may be amended by mutual written consent. Furthermore, this MoU shall be valid for three years and is automatically renewable with termination rights requiring written notice.
