Abstract
By the Presidential Decree № 2361 dated 28 August 2007, Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany on early warning system and prevention of disasters within the framework of Caucasus initiative was approved. The Parties agree upon carrying out a project on early warning system and prevention of disasters in South Caucasus by ensuring capacity building and knowledge management, enabling preparedness and prevention of risks in priority areas through risk monitoring, risk assessment and taking responsive measures to mitigate the natural risks. This Project shall be implemented at South Caucasus, national and regional level. This MoU shall be valid until one of the Parties exercises its termination rights requiring written notice.
