Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of disaster management between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

By the Presidential Decree No. 179 dated 3 June 2014, Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of disaster management between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran was approved. The Parties agree upon carrying out activities on early warning system, prevention, preparedness, mitigation and elimination of consequences. The Parties shall organize training programs and seminars and shall exchange information, research results, assistance in technical and scientific level, videos, photos and experts. The Parties shall develop joint disaster risk reduction strategies and methods. This MoU may be amended by mutual written consent. The dispute may be solved by negotiations and consultations between the Parties. This MoU shall be valid for three years and automatically renewable with termination rights requiring six months written notice.
