Ministerial Decree No. 149 approving the Regulation on the application of temporary measures for risk management to protect life and health in the field of food safety.

This Regulation lays down procedures related to temporary measures applied by the Food Safety Agency for conducting a more detailed risk assessment in cases where the existing measures in the country are insufficient to prevent a possible threat to human and animal life and health and it is impossible to ensure the necessary level of sanitary protection. Article 4.2 lists temporary measures, including but not limited to: restriction or prohibition of the activities of primary production, production, processing, distribution, utilization and destruction of food and feed products. The Regulation underlines that temporary measures should be proportionate to the level of risks and should not restrict trade activities to a greater extent than is necessary to protect life and health.
