Ministerial Decree No. 184 on the state and public ecological expertize.

This Decree lays down provisions on the state and public ecological expertize in accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Protection Law of 1999 and Law on environmental impact assessment. The main purpose of ecological expertize is to detect, prevent and predict the direct or indirect negative impacts on the environment and human health and the consequences associated with them, to determine the degree of ecological safety of the decisions taken and the effectiveness of environmental protection measures. The state ecological expertize shall be carried out by the State Ecological Expertize Agency under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan. Public ecological expertize shall be conducted with the participation of authorized representatives of relevant institutions, civil society institutions, specialists and experts for the purpose of public consultations and informing citizens.
