Ministerial Decree No. 42 on special permit to design and develop technical equipment and devices for radiation safety of the facilities of ionizing radiation sources and of the storage facilities of radioactive substances and radioactive wastes.

This Decree sets forth rules and procedures on issuance of special permit to design and develop technical equipment and devices for radiation safety of the facilities of ionizing radiation sources and of the storage facilities of radioactive substances and radioactive wastes. The documents required for application of the special permit are (i) educational background of the experts who are engaged in carrying out the activities, (ii) information regarding effects of environment, radiation, high pressure, high and low temperature, water, humidity and chemicals on materials used in designing and developing technical equipment and devices for radiation safety of the facilities of ionizing radiation sources and of the storage facilities of radioactive substances and radioactive wastes, (iii) information regarding testing, radiation protection, prevention of radioactive pollution and the frequency of conducting maintenance and repair of materials and (iv) suitable warehouses and premises for storage of radioactive substances, equipment and devices. These documents shall be examined by the experts. The special permit shall be refused in the following cases: (a) failure to submit documents specified herein, (b) submitting documents including inaccurate information and (c) in the absence of necessary conditions set forth herein for the applicant to carry out the activity.
