Presidential Decree No. 163 on the approval of the Regulation on the State Control Service for the Use and Protection of Water under the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan.

This Decree states that the State Control Service for the Use and Protection of Water shall carry out its functions in accordance with the directions of activities of the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency. The State Control Service shall be responsible for carrying out state control over: (i) the rules for the use of water bodies and their protection, to the limits of water use, to the normative legal acts that provide for sanitary-hygienic, ecological, hydrogeological, hydrological, and technological requirements in the field of the use of water bodies and their protection, (ii) the use regime of the territory of water protection zones and compliance with other requirements of the water legislation of Azerbaijan, and (iii) the monitoring of water and water management facilities.
