Presidential Decree No. 1697 on approval of the Action Plan 2006-2013 to improve the ecological situation.

This Decree aims at taking measures to reduce anthropogenic impacts on the environment and to solve environmental problems. This Decree states that the Action Plan 2006-2013 to improve the ecological situation stresses on soil pollution, effluent wastewater, air pollution, deforestation, water pollution, erosion, desertification and endangered ecosystems. The Action Plan 2006-2013 shall carry out actions to improve the ecological situation, such as wastewater treatment to increase water quality in the coastal zone of the Caspian Sea, Absheron peninsula and other regions of the country, reconstruction of sewer system, recultivation of contaminated soil and afforestation.
