Presidential Decree No. 2462 on the strategic investment projects subject to an investment promotion document.

This Decree sets out the areas of the strategic investment projects which are intended for the issuance of investment promotion document, as follows: (i) production projects based on local raw materials, such as oil, gas and cotton; (ii) energy production projects through renewable energy sources; (iii) waste management and recycling projects; (iv) sea water desalination projects; (v) projects of creation of private industrial districts; (vi) production projects of non-oil industry enterprises; (vii) projects of first time producers for the purposes of promoting the level of self-sufficiency with local products (import substitution) or increasing the export potential of the non-oil sector; and (viii) public-private partnership projects, including electricity generation projects implemented by the private sector with the government's purchase obligation.
