Presidential Decree No. 600 on the reorganization of the public legal entities “Regional Water Reclamation Service” and “United Water Supply Service of Large Cities” under the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency.

The objective of this Decree is to improve the regulation in the fields of water management and reclamation. The Regional Water Reclamation Service shall be transformed into Regional Water Reclamation Closed Joint Stock Company under the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, and shall act as a state-owned commercial legal entity that provides services in the field of reclamation and irrigation, operates and protects state-owned reclamation and irrigation systems, operates water management facilities (reservoirs, canals, pipelines, etc.) on its balance (in use), as well as provides consumers with water for drinking, industrial and other purposes in the regions and cities of Azerbaijan (except for the cities of Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, Mingachevir, Nakhchivan and Shirvan), and performs rainwater and wastewater treatment and discharge services.
The United Water Supply Service of Large Cities shall be transformed into Water Supply of Large Cities Closed Joint Stock Company under the Agency. As a state-owned commercial legal entity, the Water Supply of Large Cities Closed Joint Stock Company shall provide water to consumers for drinking, industrial and other purposes, as well as the treatment and discharge of rainwater and wastewater in the cities of Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, Mingachevir, Nakhchivan and Shirvan.
