Resolution No. 18 of the Board of the Food Safety Agency on approving the Model Regulations of Regional Branches of the Office of the Food Safety Agency.

The Regional Branches shall carry out activities in the following areas but not limited to: (i) carrying out food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary control at all stages of the food chain, including primary production, production, processing, circulation, utilization and destruction of food and feed products, and cargoes under state veterinary and phytosanitary control; (ii) issuing import quarantine permits for cargoes under phytosanitary control during the import of such cargoes and controlling the import of food and feed products; (iii) carrying out state control over compliance with the legislation on the protection of consumer rights of food and feed products, goods under state veterinary and phytosanitary control; (iv) issuing health, veterinary and phytosanitary certificates; (v) monitoring the import of chemical agents used for plant protection and medicines, biological preparations and veterinary supplies used in veterinary services; (vi) carrying out the registration, approval or cancellation of food chain facilities operating in the administrative-territorial unit, as well as the registration or refusal to register products subject to registration specified in Article 25.1 of the Law on Food Safety; (vii) participating in ensuring the development of the food safety sector and in the formation of a unified state policy in the field of food safety in the administrative-territorial unit; and (viii) operating in other areas determined by legislation.
