Abstract
This Resolution lays down technical regulations in accordance with the Codex Alimentarius International Food Standard CXS (Codex Stan) 210-1999. The scope of the requirements applies to vegetable oils specified in paragraph 3.2 of this Resolution. The content of fatty acids in vegetable oils must comply with the table set out in Annex 1 to this Resolution. Other minimum quality and compositional indicators for vegetable oils are given in Annex 2. The chemical and physical properties of unrefined vegetable oils are set out in Annex 3, the content of sterols in unrefined vegetable oils is set out in Annex 4, and the content of tocopherols and tocotrienols in unrefined vegetable oils is set out in the tables in Annex 5. With the exception of toxic flavorings, natural flavorings and their synthetic equivalents and other synthetic flavorings are acceptable for use in vegetable oils. No food additives are permitted in virgin or cold pressed oils.
