Agriculture and rural areas Development Strategy of the municipality of Pale until 2027.

The development of the Agriculture and rural areas Development Strategy of the municipality of Pale has been coordinated by the local government of the municipality of Pale, and supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) through the project “Strengthening the capacity of private and public sectors in priority value chains”. The main goal of this Strategy is to provide a framework for more dynamic development of the agricultural sector and rural areas in general, and harmonize the main directions of development of agriculture and rural areas of the municipality with a strategic framework for the development of at the level of the Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The time frame for the implementation of the Local Action Plan has been set for the period 2021-2027, which is in line with the period of adoption of the new strategic framework at the national level, as and at EU level. This Strategy is the first document that deals with the development of rural areas of the municipality from a broader aspect, considering the development of rural areas from the wider integrated approach that includes the development of other non-agricultural activities, inclusion of wider social communities in process of development, as well as respect for the state of life and environmental protection, and sustainable development. Based on the established vision, the goals of the Local Action Plan for Agriculture and Rural Development can be expressed as follows, through 3 general objectives: (1) Agricultural development production in line with the competitive advantages of the municipality and market requirements, (2) Improving the quality of life in rural areas through the creation of new sources of income and improving the physical infrastructure and accessibility of public/social services and (3) Sustainable management of rural development while preserving territorial capital.
