Decision on the conditions and method of implementation of the Convention on international trade in endangered species of wild animals and plants in Bosnia and Herzegovina (CITES).

The subject of this Decision is the implementation of the international obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a party to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Animals and Plants (CITES), ratified by Bosnia and Herzegovina on 5 December 2008. The aim of this text is prescribing the conditions under which the import, export, entry, amount or transit, trade and cultivation of endangered and protected wild plant and animal species may be carried out, including their parts and derivatives. This text further defines specific issues and rules regarding the issuance of permits and other acts (certificates, opinions), documentation that is submitted with the request for the issuance of permits, content and appearance of permits, lists of species, their parts and derivatives that are subject to the issuance of permits, i.e. other acts, species, their parts and derivatives whose import or export is prohibited, limited or suspended; exceptions to the issuance of permits, methods of marking animals or shipments, methods of monitoring and keeping records and preparing reports.
Specimens of species from Annex I of this Decision can be imported into Bosnia and Herzegovina if the applicant has an import permit issued by the Ministry. Specimens of species from Annex II of this Decision may be imported into Bosnia and Herzegovina if the applicant has an import permit issued by the Ministry. Specimens of the species from Annex III of this Decision can be imported into Bosnia and Herzegovina if the applicant has an import notification issued by the Ministry. Specimens of the species given in Annexes IV, VII and VIII of this Decision may be imported into Bosnia and Herzegovina if the applicant has an import notification issued by the Ministry. Specimens of the species given in Annexes I and VII of this Decision may be exported and re-exported from Bosnia and Herzegovina if the applicant has an export permit or re-export certificate issued by the Ministry. Specimens of species from Annexes II, III and VIII of this Decision may be exported or re-exported from Bosnia and Herzegovina if the applicant has an export permit or re-export certificate issued by the Ministry.
