Abstract
This Law officially establishes the basic/general agricultural policy and its terms, including users rights, farmers and farming rules and provisions, institutional support, data collection/registration issues, administrative and inspection obligations, and other essential agriculture issues on the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Federal Law).
The principal objectives of this Law are the following: to define the institutional structure, competence, responsibilities, lines of reporting, regulations, mechanisms of coordination, consultation processes, rights, obligations and the implementation of measures at all levels of government in the agricultural sector; to establish the framework and mechanisms for strengthening of the competitiveness and quality of agricultural and food products, and the application of standards that are needed in order to meet the dynamic development in the agricultural sector; to establish the framework and mechanisms that are necessary for the preparation and legal transition to the European Union obligations and adoption of certain international agreements.
The Law is divided into X Chapters and 73 articles, including all offences and related penalties.
The Annex is also an integral part of this text.
