Law on nature protection.

This Law regulates the conditions and manner of restoration, protection, conservation and sustainable development of the landscape, natural areas, plants, animals and their habitats, minerals and fossils, and other components of nature on the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, also defining the competence of bodies that carry out nature protection, environmental planning, general and special measures for the protection of nature, the information system, supervision, financing of the nature conservation and rules governing the legal entities and individuals.
This Law is divided into 12 Chapters and 52 articles, including the offences and related penalties.
All measures stipulated and provided by this Law are the based on the nature protection and sustainable development principles, in particular: restoration, protection, conservation and sustainable use of ecological balance in nature; restoration, protection, conservation and sustainable use of renewable natural resources; restoration, protection, conservation and sustainable use of nature and the revitalization of the damaged areas and parts of nature; establishing a system for planning, management, information and funding for environmental protection related activities; establishing inter-entity and international cooperation in the field of environmental and its consequential nature protection obligations; public participation in the protection of nature; achievement of goals set out in the National Strategy for the protection of nature; harmonization of economic and social development plans and projects with maintenance of all existing renewable natural resources; reducing the usage, load and pollution species (animals, plants, fungi) and their habitats.
This Law will not apply in case of taking urgent measures in order to prevent a potential or imminent danger to life and health.
