Law on waters (Tuzla Canton).

This Law defines and regulates, on the territory of the Tuzla Canton (part of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina), all necessary water management and water supply provisions and issues, including water
The provisions prescribed by this Law are aimed to define the organization and the way of performing tasks related to the management of waters, water protection, water use, protection from harmful water effects and regulation of watercourses and other waterworks issues.
This Law further regulates the water wealth management, public water resources, water facilities, powers and duties of the cantonal and local bodies and institutions, administration issues and requirements, obligations of legal entities and individuals responsible for water management.
The major purpose and scope of this Law is to ensure a rational and sustainable water management in order to: reduce the water pollution, achieve good water status and prevent the degradation of water; achieve concrete and constant sustainable water use; ensure equitable access to water; encourage the social and economic development; protect the ecosystems; reduce the risk of floods and other adverse effects of water; public participation in decision-making processes.
The Law is divide into XIV Chapters and 77 articles, including all offences and related penalties. The titles of Chapters are as follows: Basic provisions (I); Principles and definitions (II); Surface water and water good in the canton competence (III); Types of water facilities and ownership of water facilities (IV); Water management (V); Water use (VI); Water protection (VII); Water course management and other water protection and protection against harmful water effects (VIII); Water Acts (IX); construction, use, protection, maintenance and management of local waterways, public bonds and public fountains (X); Financing (XI); Supervision (XII); Penalties (XIII); Transitional and final provisions (XIV).
