Abstract
This Regulation determines water hazardous and harmful substances and their maximum permitted concentrations as classified by individual categories (hazardous and noxious substances). Dangerous and harmful substances, are here determined on the basis of their toxicity, degradability, bioaccumulation, carcinogenicity and other properties. The group of hazardous substances includes: 1. organohalogen compounds and substances which may form such compounds in water; 2. organophosphorus compounds and substances that can form such compounds in water; 3. organotin compounds and substances that can form such compounds in water; 4. mercury and mercury compounds; 5. lead and lead compounds; 6. arsenic and arsenic compounds; 7. cadmium and cadmium compounds; 8. Cyanides; 9. substances and preparations which have been shown to have carcinogenic or mutagenic properties or properties that may affect reproduction; 10. non-degradable mineral oils and hydrocarbons of petroleum origin; 11. biocides and plant protection products; 12. radioactive substances, including radioactive waste.
