Regulation on the management of spent batteries and accumulators.

This Regulation regulates the handling of devices with built-in batteries and accumulators, regardless of their shape, size, weight, composition or use and the date of placing on the market, as well as the method and procedure for the collection, storage and treatment of waste batteries and accumulators, including waste batteries and accumulators from end-of-life vehicles and waste from electrical and electronic products and equipment. The provisions of this Regulation shall apply to waste batteries and accumulators, including: 1) portable batteries and accumulators, 2) industrial batteries and accumulators, 3) automotive batteries and accumulators. The aim of this Regulation is to establish a system for managing waste batteries and accumulators in such a way that, through separate collection and treatment, harmful effects on human health and the environment are prevented or effectively reduced.
