Abstract
This Regulation prescribes the list of persistent organic pollutants (or POPs) substances, the method and procedure for managing POPs waste and the limit values for POPs substance concentrations relating to the disposal of waste containing or contaminated with POPs substances. Persistent organic pollutants are organic bioaccumulative toxic chemical substances. Substances that are considered POPs substances are determined by the list of POPs substances. The list of POPs substances and the limit values for POPs substance concentrations relating to the treatment of POPs waste are contained in Annex 1 of this text. Waste originating from POPs substances is waste containing or contaminated with POPs substances, and such waste is considered to be waste defined in accordance with the Law on waste management and established by the prescribed list of POPs waste. The list of POPs waste and limit values for POPs substance concentrations relating to the disposal of POPs waste is contained in Annex 2.
