Abstract
This Regulation establishes a ban on any means or methods for the widespread and indiscriminate capture or killing of birds or which would cause local extinction of birds, as well as any hunting from means of transport. This text transposes the provisions of Annex IV to Directive 2009/147/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 on the conservation of wild birds. This text declares that the use of any means or methods for the widespread and indiscriminate capture or killing of birds or which would cause local extinction of species is prohibited, in particular: traps, glues, hooks, live birds that are blind or mutilated, dead animals used as bait, tape recorders, killing devices, decoys and other similar devices, or electric stunning and all artificial baits that simulate birds; artificial light sources, mirrors, target illumination devices, optical sights for night hunting with the possibility of electronic magnification or image conversion; explosives; nets, traps, poisons or stunning baits; semi-automatic and automatic weapons with a magazine that can contain more than two rounds of ammunition and lead ammunition.
