Strategy for the development of agriculture and rural areas of the Municipality of Rogatica 2023-2029.

This Strategy for the development of agriculture and rural areas of the Municipality of Rogatica for the planned period from the year 2023 until the year 2029 has the main goal to provide an effective framework for more dynamic development of the agricultural sector and rural areas as a whole, and to harmonize the main directions of development of agriculture and rural areas of the municipality with a strategic framework development at the level of Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This Strategy is not only a sectoral document but a document that looks at the possibilities of development of rural areas from a wider integral perspective and approach to community development including and respecting the opinions and needs of representatives from different social groups in related development process, and taking into account the economic, environmental and the social side of the sustainability of the proposed interventions. This text defines the following vision of the future: to finds a balance between vision and pragmatism; to reflect the role that the rural area has in the regional and national context; to be understandable to citizens; to match with other local community plans.
In accordance with the strategic framework that is in the process of being defined at the local level, and in accordance with the strategic framework at the republic and state level, defined strategic goals for development of agriculture and rural areas are in line with the existing strategic framework and defined indicators. Strategic goal 1. Improve the competitiveness of agricultural production within selected value chains; Strategic objective 2: Improved quality of life in rural areas; Strategic objective 3: Responsible management of natural resources and territorial capital in rural areas. In addition to the strategic goals described above, the implementation of the Agricultural and Rural Development Plan areas takes into account the so-called cross-cutting objectives that are relevant to each measure and must taken into account when developing a model for the implementation of activities. Those cross-purposes relate on: gender equality, that is, improving the position of women in the countryside; the fight against poverty, then issues of demographic revitalization of rural areas and support for young people, and issues concerning environmental protection and mitigating the consequences of climate change.
